Scene from Gabriel's DreamThe Department of Theater and Dance at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will present IUP Dance Theater’s original production of Gabriel’s Dream. Performances will run October 23 and 24, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 25, at 2:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Zink Dance Theater.

Directed and choreographed by Holly Boda-Sutton, Gabriel’s Dream tells an original story through movement and the music of Peter Gabriel. The image-provoking lyrics of Gabriel’s music unfold to reveal a world in which the audience shares in a man’s journey.

Like the lyrics, the choreography embodies several layers of imagery and meaning, allowing each audience member to decide their own interpretation of the overall story and its ending. Whether the man’s journey is real or dreamed is up to the audience to decide.

Gabriel’s Dream features the costume design of Nancy Pipkin-Hutchinson, lighting design of Forrest Trimble, and visual projection design of Colin Burger.
