Rasheem White was named as the April Punxsutawney Person of Purpose. The monthly award recognizes the student who is most actively involved in classroom participation and out-of-classroom opportunities. The recognition reinforces the critical value of passion, persistence, and purpose of achieving meaningful success.
Award recipients are chosen from faculty nominations and activity and event participation records.
White attended four cocurricular opportunities and was nominated by Ray Beisel, Holly Travis, and Kristen Lawson as being among the most outstanding in their
classrooms. He will receive a $100 award and is this year’s eighth recipient.
Honorable mention recognition goes to Brittany Cannobio, Charles Cole, Siani Grierson, Justin Rowland, and Nafis Starnes. Seven additional students received at least one faculty nomination.
