I am sorry to inform you of the
death of Cody Miller, a freshman safety, health, and environmental
applied sciences major from Homer City. Cody died on March 17.
Cody was a 2014 participant in the Upward Bound Math and Science
program, a recipient of the Sutton Scholarship, and a member of
the IUP track and field team. He was a student worker at the
Hadley Union Building gymnasium.
Visitation will take place at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral
Home, 4606 Old US Highway South, Homer City, from 2:00 to 8:00
p.m. on Wednesday, March 25.
The family has asked that donations be made in Cody’s memory to
the Homer-Center Education Foundation, 65 Wildcat Lane, Homer
City, PA 15748.
The death of someone you knew can evoke strong feelings. The best
way to cope is to talk to your closest friends, family members, or
trusted teachers. There are people among us who have experienced
similar events, and they are often more than willing to help
others going through difficult circumstances.

Walk-in hours at the Counseling Center are Monday, Tuesday, and
Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Counselors will be available for crisis appointments and
consultation and to offer guidance and support during difficult
times. Members of the IUP Interfaith
Council also are available to talk with those in need of
