Chauna Craig’s essay, “Arsenic, Cadmium, Copper, and Zinc,” was a finalist in the fifth annual nonfiction contest sponsored by a Journal of the Built and Natural Environments. The essay focuses around Butte, Montana, and the toxic Berkeley Pit left there after copper mining production ended.
