The Tender Land is an opera composed by Aaron Copland. It is set in the
Midwest of the 1930’s and shows how a young girl, Laurie Moss, must choose
between living in her quiet town or leaving to explore the outside world.
The Tender Land, directed by Tania Arazi Coambs and conducted by Jack Stamp, is part
of the IUP Lively Arts’ 25th anniversary season. Performance dates are December 4–6 at 8:00 p.m. and December 7 at 2:00 p.m. on the Waller Hall Mainstage in the IUP Performing Arts Center. It is part of the
Music Theater and Sound Choices series events, and is
sure to be a memorable performance.
Joining the cast as a guest artist will be IUP alumnus Curt Sheib as Grandpa Moss.
