the next offering to its Ovations! series, the Lively Arts at Indiana
University of Pennsylvania will present, direct from Beijing, the National
Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China. This one-night-only event will be
held on November 11, 2014, at a family-friendly time of
7:00 p.m. in Fisher Auditorium of IUP’s Performing Arts Center.

acrobatic talents that are sure to appeal to audiences of all ages. The show combines theater, dance, movement, and music into a highly engaging and entertaining performance.
National Acrobats of the People’s Republic of China was founded in 1951 and has
been one of the most acclaimed acrobatic troupes in their home country and
around the world. Since its inception, there have been more than 200
artists of the company that have won gold and silver awards at international
and national acrobatic competitions and circus festivals.
1972, the company visited the United States with 72 artists who were invited as
guests to the White House. As
performing arts ambassadors, the company played a key role in the
reestablishment of diplomatic relations between China and the U.S., whose
governments at that time had no formal diplomatic ties. Since then, the company has performed in
500 cities across 70 countries.

be sold at the door starting one hour prior to the performance. Tickets are priced at $40 for regular
admission, $34 for seniors and groups, and $18 for students and children.
