Writing Center Wednesday Workshop Series Concludes With “Writing Personal Statements”

Posted on 3/27/2014 4:32:41 PM

Writing Personal Statements

  • Wednesday, April 2
  • 7:00–8:00 p.m.
  • Room 218, Eicher Hall

Are you writing a personal statement? Are you confused about what to include?

Personal statements are an important part of applications to graduate schools, employment opportunities, and more. If written correctly, they will highlight your creative and intellectual accomplishments. This workshop will help you to:

  • Brainstorm ideas for a creative and original personal statement.
  • Become familiar with the formatting of personal statements.
  • Polish an existing personal statement if you already have one.

You will have time to work on your own personal statements and will be able to ask the tutors, Lara and Shana, any questions you may have. The Writing Center is equipped with many examples of personal statements that you may refer to as well.

All Wednesday Workshop programs are free and open to all IUP students. Attendance vouchers will be provided at the conclusion of each workshop.
