Work is well underway to replace and upgrade steam and condensate lines between Sprowls and Cogswell Halls to accommodate the needs of the new food court, the Crimson Cafe, and the new College of Humanities building.
This work is scheduled to be completed by August 15, 2013. The Crimson Cafe will be located along Eleventh Street between Cogswell Hall and the IUP Libraries. It will offer specialty food items for purchase from vendors representing national or regional restaurants. Construction for this $4.9-million facility will begin later this summer, with construction scheduled for completion by August 20, 2014.
Construction for the new humanities building will begin in the fall. It will be located between Clark and Sutton halls.
The construction of the Crimson Cafe is part of the university’s $37-million Campus Dining Master Plan, approved in December 2011. The patience of the university community during this construction is appreciated.
