The University Museum will offer a workshop where attendees will explore combining various textiles, fibers, and stitches while taking a very free-form approach and letting the work evolve they go. It will be a great way to step outside the comfort zone and stretch artistic parameters. Sandy Kephart, professional fiber artist, will facilitate the workshop June 26, 2013, from 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. in Ackerman Hall on the IUP campus.
Methods for original design, inspiration, and the framing of fiber will be demonstrated. All materials and lunch will be provided, covered by a $25 registration fee. However, please bring a pair of sharp scissors and a notebook.
The workshop is being presented in conjunction with the summer exhibit, Celebrate Fiber, running June 2–August 17.
Please download, print, and complete your registration form and return with your check made payable to IUP to Carolyn Davis, Sprowls Hall Room 110, 470 South 11th Street, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA 15705.
