Michele Troutman, a senior at IUP, won the Best Poster award for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the recent Undergraduate Scholars Forum at IUP in April 2013.
Her poster was titled “Lithic Analysis: The Raw Materials Present in the Lithic Artifacts of the Johnston Site (36ln2).”
Michele is an honors student with an Anthropology major in the Archaeology track, who minors in Religious Studies. Michele has been a McNair Scholar since 2011, and was recently accepted into several Ph.D. programs in Archaeology/Anthropology. She is an alternate for a Fulbright scholarship to Cardiff University in Wales, and has also been accepted into Binghamton University and the University at Buffalo. It will be a tough choice to decide which school’s program to enter next year, but she is hopeful that the available graduate funding and the possibility of a Fulbright award will ease her decision.
