The unique opportunity to learn from professionals and gain experience in the business industry was given to students in the
International Business Association (IBA) when they visited the AIReS headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pa., on February 22, 2013.
The students listened to presentations given by employees of AIReS as well as the CEO, Bryan Putt. They learned about international compensation and data collection, cultural and language training, and relocation program management and policy review.
AIReS is a company dedicated to providing relocation solutions for domestic and international clients. It has been in business for over 30 years and is run by Putt, an IUP alumnus, which allowed IBA students to relate to the information even more.
"We went in expecting a very formal presentation, but received a warm, friendly invitation into the mechanisms of the company, along with professional advice which I know the other IBA members have profoundly taken to heart," said Julie Perri, president of IBA.
An open Q&A session was given at the end of the presentations, allowing the students the opportunity to ask employees any questions about the business world.
The company also provided bags with professional resources to each visiting student at the end of the day. These included books guiding how to be a successful in the business industry such as Great by Choice by Jim Collins and Kiss, Bow, or Shake Hands by Terri Morrison.
Overall, the students received important information in this networking opportunity which prepared them for a future in the business world.
