The College of Business Student Advisory Council’s (COBSAC) traditional fair brought in an unanticipated amount of students this semester who were eager to become active members of organizations that the Eberly College of Business has to offer.
The fair, which took place February 6–7, 2013, in the Eberly atrium, exhibited different groups within Eberly, including Phi Gamma Nu, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Management Association, Student Marketing Association, the Association of Management Information Systems, and the Student Finance Association.
“The main goal of it is to let students, mainly freshman, know what organizations Eberly has to offer,” said Rebecca Soder, president of COBSAC.
Veteran members from each group volunteered to exhibit their organization, allowing students to gain knowledge of the variety Eberly has to offer. Sign-up sheets as well as visuals were presented to spectators who wished to know more about a specific association.
By joining an organization, students can help build their resume, become more involved with their major, and interact with peers who have similar interests. It is a way to make a difference while gaining experience that sets oneself up for future career success.
“It’s a good way to get our organizations out there and make new friends,” said senior Erin Puko.
Any students who are still interested in joining an organization within Eberly should contact the organizations’ president or faculty advisor.
