Brian Jones, theater professor and chair of the Department of Theater and Dance, saw the grand opening of his new gallery, the Artists Hand, on Friday, July 13, 2012.
The gallery is located in downtown Indiana and will feature works by local artists and IUP faculty and students.
According to Jones, the name of the space came from his thought of “Giving a hand to the arts.”
The Artists Hand is a comprehensive gallery and studio managed to benefit artists and patrons of the arts by offering the very best in locally produced art and art instruction. It is also a place for both planned and spontaneous gatherings to enjoy locally roasted coffee and a variety of food while being entertained by local musicians and performers.
Gallery hours are 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and until 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The coffee shop is open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Both are closed on Sunday and Monday. The address is 732 Philadelphia Street in Indiana.
