English professor Veronica Watson has been appointed for a third year as the statewide convener of the Frederick Douglass Institute Collaborative.
"I am excited about the direction the collaborative is taking on a number of initiatives, from launching new programs that will be open to students across the system to revamping the Douglass Global Education Initiative to meet 21st-century needs of students in the Commonwealth," said Watson.
Further new initiatives include the launch of the Douglass Debate Society and and plans for an annual excursion to Washington, D.C.
The Frederick Douglass Institute Collaborative includes a number of FDIs on campuses in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
