I am saddened to share with you news of the death of one of our faculty members, Jack D. Julian, Jr. Dr. Julian died on Monday, shortly after he was moved from Shadyside Hospital to a hospice in Akron, Ohio. He had been battling pancreatic cancer for about two and a half years.
Dr. Julian had been a faculty member in the Economics Department since August 2003. A popular teacher in International Economics, he also served as the editor of the Economics Department alumni newsletter and as a member of the University Senate.
Dr. Julian was a native of Akron, where his parents still reside. Visitation and other events in celebration of Dr. Julian’s life will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. Information on funeral arrangements also appeared in yesterday’s Indiana Gazette.
