Jason Lee, 2010 graduate of the Student Affairs in Higher Education Department, received an Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award for his thesis research, “Student Loan Debt Literacy: A Comparison of First-Generation and Continuing-Generation College Students.”

The award was presented at the seventeenth annual awards luncheon on Monday, April 4, 2011, at the Crimson Event Center. The luncheon, sponsored by the School of Graduate Studies and Research, recognizes and celebrates outstanding achievement in sponsored programs and graduate student research.

Dr. John Mueller, who served as Jason’s thesis advisor, wrote in his letter of support, “Jason identified a researchable issue in student affairs practice and brought to bear on that issue his competence as a writer, a research methodologist, and a critical thinker. His thesis manuscript is the product of those scholarly attributes.”
