The Center for Teaching Excellence Advisory Board announced the winners of the 2010–2011 Teaching Excellence Awards. Three College of Natural Science and Mathematics faculty members were honored.
Justin Fair, an assistant professor in the Chemistry Department, was honored in the area of Content Pedagogy, “the use of techniques which are especially effective in teaching content within a particular discipline.”
Tom Lord, a professor in the Biology Department, was honored in the area of Pedagogical Research, “study that increases knowledge about teaching and learning as a function of actual classroom practice.”
Charles Shubra, a professor in the Computer Science Department, was honored in the area of Experiential Education, “for exemplary commitment demonstrated by an experiential education coordinator in the design, development, delivery, evaluation, and/or advocacy of experiential education at IUP.”
Congratulations to Drs. Fair, Lord, and Shubra for exemplifying the college’s commitment to teaching excellence.
