Proposal submissions are due March 1, 2011, for IUP’s second annual Gender and Sexuality Symposium.
The symposium will take place in the HUB on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
We are excited to invite you to join a multidisciplinary dialogue on gender and sexuality. Although formal research projects and papers are welcome, the symposium is designed to encourage meaningful dialogue amongst the community; thus, we encourage you to submit current projects and papers that will add to the conversation.
Various critical approaches—scientific, mathematic, literary, historical, political, rhetorical, ethical, philosophical, artistic, etc.—can be utilized to examine gender and sexuality. By creating an environment where professionals and students from the various disciplines can dialogue, we learn from each other, increasing our knowledge and competencies. The Symposium on Gender and Sexuality is a great place to start, where students, staff, and faculty are coming together to present their research and experience on the intersections of these topics.
Please visit our Symposium on Gender and Sexuality website for more information, or submit a proposal to IUPGenderandSexuality@gmail.com.
This event is co-sponsored by the GLBT Commission, Women’s Studies Program, Psychology Department, Sociology Department, Graduate Programs in Composition and TESOL, Graduate Programs in Literature and Criticism, History Department, and Business Department.
