IUP piano professor Henry Wong Doe recently released Perspectives, an album of six newly commissioned piano works by New Zealand composers on the Rattle Records label.
The six works were commissioned and recorded this year with funding support from Creative New Zealand. The theme of the project aims to illustrate each composer’s perspective in life and work during the COVID-19 pandemic. The six composers are Gemma Peacocke, Leila Adu-Gilmore, Alex Taylor, Poulima Salima, Leonie Holmes, and Penelope Axtens. The works received their world premiere at IUP on April 28, 2023.
Perspectives is available in a limited release CD format, and on all popular streaming services, including Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Spotify.
