IUP Department of Music faculty member Laura Ferguson conducted and presented at several Pennsylvania Music Educators Association events in the 2021–22 school year.
In October 2021, she presented in-service workshops to PMEA District 8 teachers on "Jazz Choir Basics." In January 2022, Ferguson conducted the PMEA District 6 Jazz Choir at Altoona Area High School. Students from eight area high schools participated. Later in January, she presented an in-service workshop to PMEA District 3 teachers on "How To Front the Band" for vocalists. In February, Ferguson presented in-service workshops to PMEA District 6 teachers on "Jazz Diction" and "Beginning Vocal Jazz Improvisation."
