Indiana University of Pennsylvania flautist Colleen Welsh has been selected as one of six finalists in the West Shore Symphony Orchestra's fourth annual Concerto Competition.
Welsh, a senior and a student of Therese Wacker, will perform Concertino for Flute and Orchestra, Op. 8 by Otar Gordeli on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. in the Cunningham Center for Music and Art at Susquehanna University, in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Admission is free.
The winner of the competition will perform with the symphony at their final Family and Masterworks Concerts of the Season on Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8, at the Carlisle Theatre, 40 West High Street, Carlisle, Pa.
