IUP Department of Music faculty member, Laura Ferguson, provided in-service professional development for music teachers in PMEA District 8, composed of schools in Tioga, Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan, Union, Snyder, Northumberland, Columbia, and Montour counties, on October 11, 2021.
Her first session, "Jazz Choir Basics" gave an overview of the vocal style, microphone technique, and chord voicing used in jazz choirs. Her second session, "Taking Advantage of Free Media in a Hybrid General Music World," gave in-service general music teachers a chance to share and compare multi-media resources for asynchronous and hybrid instruction.
