The program will feature numerous pieces for the 14-member ensemble, along with works for smaller groups. The performance will begin with Richard Byrd's "Sound Reflections," written after the composer visited the Grand Canyon. Two movements from Ronald LoPresti's "Suite for Five Trumpets" and two movements from Ronald Dishinger's "English Madrigal Suite," an arrangement of J. S. Bach's "If Thou Be Near," and two jazz trumpet quartets by James Olcott will also be performed. The recital will conclude with a performance of Wesley Nance's "A Brief Adventure," featuring the entire ensemble.
