Congratulations are in order for IUP Department of Music alumnus Ed Yasick, Jr. who was named 2019 High School Choral Teacher of the Year by theNorth Carolina Music Educator's Association High School Choral Section.
Yasick earned a music education degree at IUP in 1991. While at IUP, he studied piano with James Staples and organ with Carol Teti. Yasick has taught at Cary High School in Cary, North Carolina, since 1996.
Yasick was featured in a recent article by the Indiana Gazette. Students, faculty, and staff gave him the royal treatment by celebrating his accomplishment in this Facebook video by the Wake County Public School System.
