The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra performed a concert titled "JSO Pops: Movies from Johnstown + Open Mic Night at the Symphony" on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

The orchestra included faculty members, Kevin Eisensmith (trumpet) and Ronald Horner (timpani), and alumni Dennis Emert (horn, MA'89, BSEd'85) and Michael Vatavuk (percussion BSEd'92). In addition to performing in the orchestra, Vatavuk also contributed four arrangements for the ensemble, and current music education student Andy Junttonen (BSEd) provided another.

In addition to highlighting musical scores written for films made in Johnstown, the concert also featured Johnstown-area talent in the Open Mic portion of the concert. Two alumni were featured in this portion of the concert. Dana Cooper (BSEd'16, BA'11) performed "Anything for You My Love" along with her six-year-old daughter, Clara; and Arlene (Ivory) Huth (MA'19, BFA'17) performed Mozart's aria, "Non s cosa son" from The Marriage of Figaro.
