Rosamaria is an IUP alumna originally from Guatemala who graduated with a degree in Regional Planning and GIS/Cartography (Geography) and a minor in Deaf Studies. While a student, Rosamaria founded the now three-year-old Caring About Latino Students (CALSA) program and devoted her time to nonprofits such as TEAMeffort and Building New Hope. As a Latina and someone who deeply cares for the livelihood of underserved populations, Rosamaria continually promotes awareness and helps to bring support to Latino communities across Pennsylvania. Through the various organization, departments, and boards she is involved in, Rosamaria is able to effect change in these communities.
Currently, Rosamaria is a graduate student in the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public and International Affairs. In addition to her graduate studies, Rosamaria stands as Immigrants and Internationals Advisory Council co-chair of Allegheny County Department of Human Services, board member of Squirrel Hill Health Center, and director of the Latino Family Center in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
