This presentation is to educate schools and the communities they serve on the nature of depression and suicide, and what to look for in the students who are part of both school and community. We will describe risk factors, methods of intervention at each level of risk, and describe how a person becomes suicidal. Focus will be on providing skills to use when intervention is necessary. Another focus will be on the school and community education and stigma reduction effort.
