This plenary session will examine the impact of"cultural context" in the lives of children who are labeled "high risk" and their families. The definition of "diversity" will be discussed to critique how inclusion and exclusion influences both internal and external identities. The impact of the social construction and its different dimensions will be critically examined along with the critical question:"What is the role of helping professionals as agents of change and advocates for their clients and their families?"
