This workshop focuses on essential and practical skills for leading all kinds of groupstask, educational, supportive, and counseling groups. Leadership styles will be discussed and demonstrated. The importance of the stages and dynamics of groups will be presented and discussed. Most of the workshop will focus on practical skills and techniques for conducting groups. Participants will be given a list of essential skills. Also, a list of the most common mistakes of group leaders will be presented.
Time will be spent on showing how to work with difficult members of groups. Also, techniques for working with individuals in a group setting will be discussed and demonstrated. Techniques for maximizing the use of group exercises will be discussed and shown.
