Prescription drug abuse has been a rapidly growing problem across the nation in recent years. Our region has seen a dramatic increase in drug overdose deaths and legal medications have been involved in over 60% of these deaths. This workshop will describe natural trends of prescription drug abuse, explore the local impact of this problem and discuss educational and treatment strategies to address this problem.
