Supporting student veteran success has become a priority of increasing importance in higher education. This is especially true for the small proportion of student veterans who are simultaneously coping with trauma from military combat exposure or military based-violence and trauma. This panel discussion will first provide an overview of the services and processes that universities put in place for detecting, engaging, and alleviating trauma-induced distress in student veterans. The panel will then discuss challenges and gaps in existing processes with an aim toward engaging with the broader audience of experts in attendance on how to better serve the population of trauma-distressed student veterans.
