    What’s Happening for Management Majors?

Management students can engage in activities outside of the classroom, deepening their commitment to an area of expertise. Students have the opportunity to join a variety of student organizations relevant to their future professions. These affiliations are valuable resume builders toward professional employment.

    Student Operations Management Association (IUP-APICS)

The Student Operations Management Association provides students with knowledge exchange and networking opportunities in the field of operations management. The association also assists you in obtaining widely sought certification through active cooperation with the Association for Operations Management (APICS).

    Future Entrepreneurs Club (FEC)

This club cultivates future entrepreneurs and their business concepts. FEC helps these aspiring entrepreneurs to develop business plans for their business concepts. The club brings together young, aspiring entrepreneurs and successful ones, and provides a forum for students interested in entering the annual Pennsylvania State System Business Plan Competition, along with any other competition that the club finds of interest.

    International Business Association (IBA)

This association disseminates information to increase the awareness of cross-cultural and international business issues. Additionally, IBA fosters world diversity and friendship among its members, encouraging members to have a global outlook and to explore the world of diverse cultures with enthusiasm and respect.

    Management Association/Delta Epsilon Chi

This association provides an opportunity for the members to increase management skills and expertise through organizational involvement, participation in programs, and services designed to improve the professional quality of their knowledge, performance, and leadership ability.

Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM)

This society provides opportunities for students to interact with human resource professionals in a mutually beneficial way for both parties—networking opportunities, internships, and job placements are frequent. The student chapter is the oldest of the SHRM chapters in the local area.
