Michael Lambert ’68, M’69; Timothy Mott ’78, M’79


Michael Lambert ’68, M’69, left, executive director of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) in Washington, D.C., welcomes fellow IUP alumnus Timothy Mott ’78, M’79 as a newly appointed public member on the DETC Accrediting Commission (Mott is one of only four public members on the nine-member commission). His appointment will extend to 2010.

Mott is associate provost of Distance Learning at Union Institute and University in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his tenure at UI&U he was also dean of the Center for Distance Learning, assistant vice president for academic affairs, and university registrar. He was named director of the American Council on Education’s State Affiliate Office in Ohio last year.

Mott received his Ph.D. in curriculum and supervision from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Lambert is a 1998 recipient of the IUP Distinguished Alumni Award.

DETC is a federally recognized accrediting agency for distance education institutions.
