Matt Babcock D’09 Publishes Poetry Collection

Points of Reference

A professor of English at Brigham Young University—Idaho, Matt Babcock D’09 recently published his first poetry collection, Points of Reference. This chapbook, released by Folded Word in March, explores themes of family and the landscape of the Rocky Mountain Northwest and includes poems that earned Matt the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Award. Matt also will publish his first collection of fiction, Future Perfect, through Queen’s Ferry Press in October. He has been nominated three times for the Pushcart Prize and won first prize in Press 53’s fiction contest for his novella He Wanted to Be a Cartoonist for the “New Yorker.”
