James Innes taught drawing, painting, and art appreciation for over 25 years at IUP. Over 30 of his works, including paintings and prints, will be on display for this exhibition.

From reference images collected since an undergraduate at IUP, Adam Frelin takes his freestanding cutouts transforming the gallery into something like a brain. These floating images appear and disappear as you walk--or think--your way around the space.

Memory and Magic: Folk Artists in Western Pennsylvania

February 3-March 10, 2018; Reception February 3, 6:00-8:30 p.m.; University Museum, First Floor Sutton Hall

Folk art featuring scenes of daily life, such as those painted by Linton Park, Eunice McCloskey, Richard Cooper, and others, are featured in this exhibit. Also included are imaginative works of Mary Hamilton of Clarion County and others. The pieces are from the University Museum's permanent collection and on loan from private collections.
