Outreach: Koresh Dance

On each of their two visits to Indiana—September and November—this renowned dance company will be working with English students from Indiana Junior High School in a residency format to discuss dance interpretation of writing. The students will choreograph their own dance to Tupak Shakur's poem “The Rose That Grew From Concrete,” and then perform it in November. During the September residency, Koresh will also provide an after-school stretching, strengthening, and movement class for parents, teachers, and community members, and will work with IUP students and members of IUP Dance Theater in both September and November.  A full look at the residency is below.
