Program Director

David Wachob, DEd, CAPE, CHES

David Wachob is an associate professor in theKinesiology, Health, and Sport Science Department. He is a certified health and physical education teacher, with both a baccalaureate and master's degree in the discipline. His doctoral degree is in education, with a focus in curriculum and instruction. Wachob also holds several other certifications, including certified adapted physical educator, certified health education specialist, and physical best fitness specialist.

Wachob has been teaching in higher education since 2009, which includes being a faculty member at Lock Haven University before his appointment at IUP. Prior to his career in higher education, Wachob worked in both the private and public school settings as a teacher, coach, and aquatics director. His professional interests include student engagement, learning styles, and interdisciplinary teaching.

Morgan Lovely, Homeschool Graduate AssistantMorgan Lovely

Morgan is a graduate assistant in the Kinesiology, Health, and Sport Science Departmentand iscurrently pursuing her master's degree in health and physical education.She graduated from Southern ConnecticutStateUniversity with a BS in exercise science, focusing in human performance.

Following her graduation from SCSU, Morgan worked for Soccer Shots as a youth sports coach for two years. She also interned and was then promoted for employment by Yale School of Medicine as a certified exercise physiologist and program coordinator for Bright Bodies Weight Management program for kids. She also worked for Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England as a K-12 Girl Experience specialist designing and facilitating a variety of experiential programming. She recently coordinated a trip with 25 young adults for a nine-day Conservation in Costa Rica adventure tour and also hosted a Color Battle 5K for 200 community members in spring 2018.

Morgan is also a certified B1 Zumba instructor, assistant coach for Girls on the Run, and an avid endurance runner. She can't wait to share her positive energy and inspire youth in the education system and local community here in Indiana.

Alex Stemmler, Homeschool Program Graduate AssistantAlex Stemmler

Alex is from Derry, Pennsylvania, and is pursuing his master's degree in health and physical education in the Adapted Physical Activity track. He graduated from IUP with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education and completed his student teaching at the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District. His responsibilities include supervising the Homeschool program, assessing and aiding undergrad students, and participating in departmental activities. His future plans are to become a physical education teacher at any level and to also coach soccer.
