Erick Lauber is an applied psychologist who changed his career focus
to journalism and mass media after producing several educational television shows at his previous institution, the University of Georgia.
He has since started three digital media companies, consults regularly, and serves as director of Community Health and Leadership at the MARTI-CBH institute at IUP. His focus is educational and self‐help journalism and technology in journalism.
He has most recently focused his research on preventing alcohol and drug addiction and has completed numerous grant-funded projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs and the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency.
His most recent book, Your Kid’s World Today, was co-written with several of his journalism students, including Katie Mest, a recent graduate of IUP’s Journalism and Public Relations program. The book is available on Amazon.com, as is Lauber’s
previous book on teamwork, leadership, and communication, Don’t
Break the Rope!
