Dispatch Share

The dispatch share contains files from several services. When a user utilizes one of these services, a folder is created which only that user can access. Information about the services is available in the menu bar to the left.

There are two methods to access your Dispatch Share Folder. Replace USERNAME with your username:

1. In your browser’s URL enter:

2. Access the folder by mapping a drive:

  • PC Users: \\\share\dispatch\USERNAME
  • MAC Users: smb://

If you are mapping a drive while off campus, you must connect to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) or the Virtual Computer Lab (VCL) before you can access the dispatch share. If you are not connected to the VPN or VCL while off campus and you try to access the files, you will receive this error:

403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

When accessing from the VPN, you will be prompted for your username and password. Enter your username in this format: IUPMSD\username —substituting your username. For the password, enter your IUP network password.

See How to Map the Standard IUP Network Drives for information on mapping drives.
