Moodle Course Home Page for Students

  • Log in to Moodle using the web address Look for your course title in the list found on the My home page. Click on the course title to access the course. You will then see the Course Home page. Review the numbered list below for an explanation of the various blocks on the page.

    Course Home Page

    1. People: This block contains a link to the list of participants enrolled in the course.
    2. Activities: Lists and allows navigation between the different activities available in your course (e.g., Forums, Quizzes, and Assignments).
    3. Settings Block: The block will include links to grades and to your profile settings.
    4. Navigation Block: The navigation block appears on every page of the site. It contains an expanding tree menu which includes My Home, Site Pages, My Profile, and Courses.
    5. Content Area: This area will show information, resources, and activities that your instructor has made available to you as part of your course.
    6. Latest News: Displays recent posts made to the News Forum.
    7. Upcoming Events: Displays upcoming events in the course, particularly ending dates associated with Assignments and Quizzes.
    8. Recent Activities: Shows updates that have been made since the last time you accessed the course.
    9. Search Forums: Allows you to search the course forums for a specific word or phrase.

    Your instructor will give you details on how to move through the course content.
