Uploading Files to a Moodle Assignment

  • Instructors can elect to have students submit assignments in multiple ways through Moodle. However, one of the most common ways is to have students upload files to an assignment. These instructions will provide you a general guide for uploading files to the assignment. The size and number of files that you may upload to an assignment will be dictated by the setting that your instructor has elected to use on the assignment.

    1. Click on the assignment on the Moodle course page.
    2. The assignment page will include the title of the assignment, any directions the instructor may provide, the due date of the assignment, as well as whether you have submitted the assignment or not. To submit your assignment, click the Add Submission button.

    3. On the file submission screen, add the file(s) you wish to submit for the assignment. You can do so by either dragging and dropping your files or by clicking Add>Upload a file and then browsing to the location of the file on your computer. Once you have attached your files, click Save ChangesNotes: 1) It may take a few seconds for the file to upload. 2) This page will indicate to you the maximum number of files that you may upload and the maximum size for the files.  M2Assigment3
    4. Once you have uploaded your files, click the Submit Assignment button to turn in your assignment. Please note that your instructor will not receive the assignment until you click the Submit Assignment button and that once the button is clicked, you will be unable to modify your assignment submission.  M2Assignment2
