Background clearances are tracked as part of the onboarding process through web-based software called NEOGOV before
the first day of work with IUP.
New Student Workers: Background clearances for new student employees are now tracked through a system called NEOGOV. The Office of Human Resources are notified of prospective student hires through the Hire A Hawk student employment process.
Exceptions: Remote graduate assistants (not processed through the School of Graduate Studies and Research) and teaching assistants can be requested through our online Request for Background Clearance form.
Rehired Student Workers: Hiring managers should check the background clearance status link on MyIUP. Follow on-screen directions if any clearances shows a status of “Incomplete.” If all three clearances show a status of “Complete,” students can go directly to Payroll Services with their completed profile sheet.
