Obtaining clearances for new hires and re-hires

  • Faculty and Staff Hires and Rehires

    Background clearances are tracked as part of the onboarding process through web-based software called NEOGOV before the first day of work with IUP.  

    Student Worker Hires and Rehires

    New Student Workers: Background clearances for new student employees, graduates assistants and teaching associates are now tracked through a system called NEOGOV.

    The Office of Human Resources are notified of prospective student hires through the Hire A Hawk student employment process.

    Notifications on graduate assistants (processed through the School of Graduate Studies and Research AND through the SAHE program) and teaching assistants are sent to the Office of Human Resources through existing internal notification processes.

    Rehired Student Workers: Hiring managers should check the background clearance status link on MyIUP.

    Follow on-screen directions if any clearances shows a status of “Incomplete.” If all three clearances show a status of “Complete,” students can go directly to Payroll Services with their completed profile sheet.
