Gender Inclusive Housing Policy

  • Gender-Inclusive Housing allows for the assignment of residents to on-campus housing spaces regardless of the sex of the student.

    • Gender-Inclusive Housing is only available in the following suite types:

      • Two-person private semi-suite
      • Four-person private suite
      • Two-person private suite with private bath

    • Students Eligible for Gender-Inclusive Housing:

      • Any grouping of students, who are 18 years of age or older and are intending to live together and fill an entire suite.
    • Procedure to Request Gender-Inclusive Housing:

      • In order to request Gender-Inclusive Housing, the student group must complete the Gender-Inclusive Housing Request Form and return it to the Office of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining.
      • Continuing students will need to self-identify their group as gender-inclusive by contacting the assistant director for Occupancy in the Office of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining at least one week prior to the continuing student housing signup process.
      • Incoming first-year students are directed to contact OHRLD to request a gender-inclusive housing assignment.
      • If a Gender-Inclusive Housing Suite were to drop below the capacity of the suite, the Office of Housing, Residential Living, and Dining reserves the right to dissolve the suite assignment and return the unit to single gender housing.
