Elizabeth Ricketts, PhD Emory University (1996), is an extremely popular teacher who specializes in 20th-century American history, especially the history of the working class. She also teaches a course on African-American women.
Her primary work involves the study of radical politics in the Western Pennsylvania coalfields. She is currently working on a book about 19th-century work in America, a project that she is co-authoring with Gary Bailey, professor of history emeritus.
Ricketts also serves as the assistant chairperson of the department.
