Woodard & Curran is pleased to announce that IUP alumnus John Ferketic has joined the firm as a vice president for the firm’s Environmental Information Services group. Ferketic has twenty-five years of spatial technology experience designing, developing, and implementing multimillion-dollar geographic information systems (GIS) projects for public sector clients at the local, state, and federal levels as well as managing data development solutions for energy and transportation clients. At Woodard & Curran, Ferketic’s primary focus will be providing leadership and direction for the firms’ EIS group, supporting both the existing internal and external client base as well as planning the group’s future direction.
Prior to joining the firm, he held senior management positions at several national GIS consulting firms, including Michael Baker Jr., Inc., and the James W. Sewall Company in Old Town, Me. He earned a bachelors and master’s degree in geography from IUP. Ferketic also served for four years as an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., where he created and taught courses in GIS Management.
