AAAS Mass Media Sciences and Engineering Fellows Program

A $5,000 stipend plus travel expenses for AAAS fellowship for current undergraduate students or those who have completed a degree no more than one year ago in the physical, biological, geological, health, engineering, computer, or social sciences or mathematics.

Deadline: January 15 annually

ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Prevention, Inc. Academic Scholarship

Award of $1,000 to students planning to or currently studying within a field of science, engineering, mathematics, or technology.

Deadline: June 26 annually

AEG Scholarships

Several scholarships for undergraduates to attend field camps or professional meetings, and support student research, scholarship, and professional development.

Deadlines: February 1 annually

AIPG National Undergraduate Scholarship

Awards of $1,000 to $3,000 each for undergraduate students in the field of geology or earth science. Must be at least sophomore level, attend a two-year or four-year accredited college or university within the United States, and either be or have applied for student membership to AIPG.

Deadline: February 15 annually

AIPG Pennsylvania Section Student Scholarship

Up to $500 for undergraduate or graduate students accepted or enrolled in a geology or related major. Must be a Pennsylvania resident.

ASWP Beulah Frey Environmental Scholarship

Award of $1,000 to graduating high school seniors from Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Beaver, Fayette, Washing, or Westmoreland counties applying to environmentally-related fields at two-year and four-year colleges.

Deadline: May annually

AWG Brunton Award

Award of one engraved Brunton transit and one-year membership to AWG to a female geoscience student at the senior level or early graduate level who has been a summer intern, excelled at field camp, or promoted field data collection leading to a senior or graduate thesis.

Deadline: November 15 annually

AWG Maria Crawford Field Camp Scholarship

Award of $750 to a full-time, female undergraduate student in the geosciences including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology, or earth science education, with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

Deadline: February annually

AWG Minority Scholarship

Award of $6,000 to a female minority undergraduate student in the geosciences including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, meteorology, physical oceanography, planetary geology, or earth science education.

Deadline: June 30 annually

AWG Sand Student Research Presentation Travel Award

Award of $500 to be used for travel, lodging, registration, and other expenses associated with the presentation of a female geoscience student's research at the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America.

Deadline: August 10 annually

AWG Takken Student Research Presentation Travel Award

Award of $500 to be used for travel, lodging, registration, and other expenses associated with the presentation of a female geoscience student's research at a professional meeting other than the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America.

Deadline: February 10 and August 10 annually

AWG Undergraduate Excellence in Paleontology Award

Award of $1,000 to a female undergraduate student in the paleontological and affiliated sciences.

Deadline: April 15 annually

Brown and Caldwell Eckenfelder Scholarship

Award of $5,000 to full-time junior or senior undergraduate students or graduate students with a declared major in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or in one of the environmental sciences such as geology, hydrogeology, or ecology. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Deadline: April annually

Brown and Caldwell GLBTQ Scholarship

Award of $5,000 to full-time junior or senior undergraduate students or graduate students identifying as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning with a declared major in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or in one of the environmental sciences such as geology, hydrogeology, or ecology. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship

Award of $5,000 to full-time junior or senior undergraduate students or graduate students identifying as minorities with a declared major in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or in one of the environmental sciences such as geology, hydrogeology, or ecology. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Brown and Caldwell Navajo Scholarship

Award of $5,000 to full-time junior or senior undergraduate students or graduate students who are members of the Navajo Nation with a declared major in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or in one of the environmental sciences such as geology, hydrogeology, or ecology. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Brown and Caldwell Women in Leadership Scholarship

Award of $5,000 to full-time junior or senior undergraduate students or graduate students identifying as woman demonstrating leadership within the community with a declared major in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or in one of the environmental sciences such as geology, hydrogeology, or ecology. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Deadline: April annually

The Desk AND Derrick Educational Trust Scholarships

Awards in varying amounts to students enrolled majoring in geology, chemical and petroleum engineering, or related field. Must have completed two years of college or be in the second year of college, have a GPA of 3.2 or higher, and be planning for a career in the petroleum, energy or allied industry, or research and development of alternative fuels.

Deadline: April 1 annually

HENAAC Scholarship

Awards ranging from $500 to $10,000 to students enrolled in a STEM program with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and of Hispanic descent.

Deadline: April 30 annually

Joseph James Morelli Scholarship

Award of $1,000 to high school and college students with learning challenges who wish to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, or math.

Deadline: March 17 annually

Liberty Power Bright Horizons Scholarship

Awards of $4,000, $6,000, or $10,000 to students currently studying in a STEM field

NOAA ERNEST F. HOLLINGS UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP

Up to $9,500 scholarship for undergraduates majoring in a discipline area related to oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education.

Deadline: January annually

Out to Innovate Scholarships for LGBTQ+STEM Students

Awards of $5,000 to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics programs who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or an active ally of the LGBTQ community. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Deadline: June annually

The Paul and Ellen Ruckes Scholarship

Awards of $2,000 to full-time undergraduate or graduate students in the field of engineering or computer, physical, or life sciences with proof of legal blindness.

Deadline: April 1 annually

PSGC Undergraduate Scholarship

Awards of $4,000 to full-time junior or senior undergraduate students attending an accredited Pennsylvania college or university with outstanding academic records enrolled in science, engineering, or mathematics, and likely to pursue a career in an area of interest to NASA.

R&D Systems Scholarship

Awards of $1,500 to students enrolled in a science related field.

Deadline: July annually

The Science Ambassador Scholarship

Full tuition scholarship for up to 4 years to a female undergraduate student seeking a degree in science, engineering, or math, funded by Cards Against Humanity.

Deadline: December 11 annually

SEG Scholarships

A variety of scholarships with awards ranging from $500 to $14,000 available for undergraduate and graduate students of geophysics or a related field such as geosciences, physics, geology, or earth and environmental sciences.

Deadline: March 1 annually

Society for Exploration Geophysicists Foundation Scholarships

Awards vary from $500 to $14,000 per academic year for high school students planning to enter college in the fall and current undergraduate and graduate students with above average grades. Must be in pursuit of a career in applied geophysics or closely related field such as geoscience, physics, geology, or earth and environmental science.

UNCF STEM Scholars Program

Award of $20,000 to African-American/Black undergraduate students in STEM majors who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a demonstrated financial need.

Universities Space Research Assocation (USRA) Scholarship Awards

Awards of $4,000 to full-time junior and senior undergraduate students in field of science or engineering with a career interest in space science research, aeronautics-related sciences, or space science education.

Virginia Heinlein Memorial Scholarship

Awards of $1,250 to a female undergraduate student majoring in engineering, math, or biological or physical sciences.
