Two senior geology students were invited to participate in the Pittsburgh Geological Society Student Night and came away with awards. Congratulations to Christian Vizza and Gavin Vashie for their hard work on their research this past year and their award-winning presentations at the event.
Christian Vizza: Best Poster Award on his research titled "Using Diatoms to Model Antarctic Sea Ice during the mid-Pleistocene." Christian's research mentor is Jonathan Warnock.
Gavin Vashie: US Army Corp of Engineers Award on his research titled "Microcontaminants in Indiana, PA's Freshwater Systems." Gavin's research mentor is Katie Farnsworth.
