Ken Coles was awarded the Dean of Kopchick College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Award for Outstanding Research.
This award, presented by the School of Graduate Studies and Research in conjunction with the Research Institute, was presented to Coles for his work on mapping Mars.
Coles, along with co-authors Kenneth Tanaka (United States Geological Survey) and Philip Christensen (Arizona State University), recently published The Atlas of Mars: Mapping its Geography and Geology.
The Atlas of Mars was recently awarded the 2020 PROSE national book award in cosmology and astronomy and has received much praise from the scientific community.
