IUP's Iota Mu Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Hispanic Honor Society, celebrated its 51st initiation ceremony on Friday, December 1, 2023.
Welcomed to active membership were: Verónica Durán Páramo (early childhood/special education, Spanish education), Kendall Gómez (international studies, Spanish), Christina Lyttle (English education, Spanish), and Julia Vislosky (Spanish education). Isabelle Clayton (food and nutrition, Spanish) and Mirna Torres Ayala (geology, Spanish) served as student officers. Department of Foreign Languages faculty members Christina Huhn, Sean McDaniel, Lydia Rodríguez, Dawn Smith-Sherwood (chapter advisor), and Heide Witthöft participated in the event as readers.
