Community Nutrition Services

  • Community Nutrition Services (CNS) encompass a wide range of nutrition education and counseling activities for IUP students, faculty, and staff and the greater Indiana County Community.

    What CNS Provides

    • Interactive nutrition presentations to all age groups
    • Hands-on exhibits for health fairs 
    • Nutrition intervention to the community through counseling, education, and research activities
    • Evaluation of food intake and computerized diet analysis and overall health status. 
    • Individualized nutrition counseling for diabetes control, weight management, cholesterol control, eating disorders, pregnancy, lactation, athletic training, general health and wellness, high blood pressure, and other medical problems that require nutrition intervention

    Who Provides Our Services

    Depending upon the request, our services are provided by Food and Nutrition faculty members who are licensed dietitian nutritionists (LDN), graduate students, or undergraduate students. All services are supervised by faculty members.
